Prayers for the week of January 5th

Living Hope Staff:

  • Jason: Pray for God’s שָׁלוֹם to permeate our church, families, and lives and enable us as a family of faith to more effectively live as Christ and share The Story with greater confidence and effectiveness as we make peace and share the only means to have real lasting peace.
  • Dan: Pray for prostate biopsy on the 15th to be free and clear. So thankful for the time to reflect on the meaning of the birth of our Savior to my daily living! Pray that I am more obedient than ever in 2014 to what He desires for me.
  • Benny –  Please pray for our teams who are in the midst of making plans for January through Easter.  We want to be in tune with God’s direction for our Worship ministries.
  • David – pray for our disciple-making strategy launch this Sunday, and for development of EQUIP offerings for winter-spring…
  • Bill – nephew, John Louis. PeaceMakers training/launch
  • Ryan – Thankful for a great Christmas and New Year! Pray for wisdom to lead our students in this new year
  • Cindy – Praise for a restful break and a challenging time at the CROSS conference. Pray for focused vision for 2014; new outreach initiatives; strengthening of lay leadership; balance of ministry demands; wisdom for ministry structure and job responsibilities.
  • Scott – Pray for strength and wisdom in casting vision for new year.
  • Mark – Praising God for a restful break and also thankful that I get to do something that I am excited about returning to. Praying for focus, personal health and growth in holiness.
  • Michael – Prayer for focus on a super busy part of the year.
  • Jeff – Thankful for a great break for the holidays! Pray for time management as I get back in the saddle
  • Jeremie – Good health; Wisdom and faith in leadership; New volunteers as we seek to grow the ministry
  • Tyler – prayer for strategic planning.

Tom and Carla – SouthEast Asia

  • please pray for Carla’s complete and correct healing of her hand.
  • Pray for each of our girls as they begin the second semester of school this week!
  • Pray for good health, strength, and guidance for us this semester.

W&L – The Gateway City (for security reason, I cannot share names on the internet)

  • January 13th we start a new language school. Pray for advancement as we only have a few months left of our one year time of concentrated language learning.
  • W has met a Pakistani man who would like to be discipled. Pray that they would be able to meet regularly to encourage one another.
  • Pray for the immigrant pastors here. Next week they will receive theological training as a group from the states comes to volunteer. Pray that the pastors will be encouraged and challenged and that many more people will be reached with the gospel as a result of this training.

Bryan Lewis – Hope House

  • Pray for our board meeting on January 16
  • Pray for our three courses and the participants that have begun this week.
  • Pray for a group of ladies who are going to begin sewing this Thursday from 9 – 12.
  • Pray for the future growth and support for Hope House in the new year.

Stuart and Jenny Borders, Church Planters in Atlanta, GA

  • Spencer will be getting tubes put in this Wednesday, 1/7. Please pray for easy surgery and a quick recovery.
  • Pray for Jenny. If he doesn’t go before, Ben will be born next Friday morning.  Pray for jenny’s comfort, strength, and health.  Pray for her to have some sweet time with the other kids in preparation for Ben.  They are excited to meet him and counting down the days.
  • Pray for Dan, Shante, and Bahli, three of our friends who we pray God continues to give opportunities to grow a relationship that leads to gospel investments.

Bryan Veatch – FCA director, South Central Kentucky

  • Please join us in praying for the upcoming FCA “Coaches Time Out” Conference in Lexington KY, January 18th-20th. We anticipate 80-100 Coach/Spouse Couples to attend.  We are praying that the Lord will Build, Bless & Restore the relationships of the couples attending.

Mark and Parker Phillips – Road to Karma

  • Please pray for Alassan (church leader in Ayorou) and his wife who lost their baby this past week.  Ibrahim reports that the church has rallied around them in prayer but this is still a very difficult time.
  • Please pray for the Songhai team as we begin 2014 with a bold plan for what we feel God has called us to do.  Pray that 2014 would be a year of much fruit.

R&N – Lost Cities of Asia – (for security reason, I cannot share names on the internet)

  • Pray for a week of rest as some travel plans were cancelled due to the weather.
  • Pray for Natalie as she is due to have the baby sometime next month.
  • Pray for us as we are doing some out of town speaking this weekend to churches about our work in East Asia.
  • Pray that others would be recruited to pray, give, and join us in the work.

John and Abby Fisher – Northern Plains

  • Family in our church was struck with some violence recently and I am trying to help them traverse the situation and figure out what is next for them.
  • We have been blessed with a new family coming to church. They are a fun addition and exciting to get to know. With them coming we are now over 40 people that call Sojourn East their church home.

Thomas Weakley – Campus Crusade at WKU

  • Please pray for the 55 students returning from our winter conference over the Break.  We are asking the Lord to use these students as they seek to impact WKu for Christ.
  • Please pray for our upcoming Student leadership retreat on January 24,25.  That the Lord would use the time to encourage and equip at least 60 students to be more effective as servants of Christ.

Departmental Prayers:

  • Students: Pray for an impactful DNOW weekend on Jan 17&18.
  • Welcome – New volunteers for the 11am hour to usher and for the 9:30 & 11:00 hour for Guest Parking.

Living Hope Members:

  • Nicole Shores requests prayer for Jill Harper, Tyler Ross & his family, Brenda & Jason shores, Christi & Matthew Shores, for the mother of Thomas Alvey who passed away and for Jennifer Johnson.
  • Carlos Lopez requests prayer for his family members who are not saved.
  • Doug DeJarnatt requests prayer for his family who recently lost his father.
  • Chris Lindsey  and Travis Hudnell requests prayer for Chase Vibbert who has been diagnosed with a rare form of cancer; he is 15 years old and in Kosair receiving treatment.
  • Molly Besaw requests prayer for her father, John Schuette, who has been diagnosed with Lewy-body Syndrome. Pray for his wife to make the right decisions about their living situation.
  • Irene Adams requests prayer for her sister, Beverly Dabney, who is in need of a liver and kidney transplant. Doctors have given her less than a month to live; she is not saved and has children.
  • Becky Bruce requests prayer for Jim who has recently been diagnosed with atrial fibrillation and cardiomyopathy.
  • Cary Hale asks that we pray she will get a good job and that she will have a sense of safety and security. Pray also for peace and strength.
  • Lindsey Midkiff requests prayer for Kennedy Jones who has been diagnosed with migraines, pray for healing.
  • Carla & Terry Reagan requests prayer for their son, Jason, and his family; who will need housing after 1/16. Pray they find something quickly they can afford.
  • Valerie requests prayer for Taylor Harris as she goes on mission to Greece; pray for her family also.
  • Lisa Chapman requests prayer for Evelyn Johnson, David McCrody, Betty Keown and Larry Chapman.
  • Jim thanks God for his job, health and family. Please pray for the homeless, his unsaved in-laws and his wife who is having surgery soon.
