Prayer Requests from November 3rd

Living Hope Staff Requests:

  • Jason: Pray for God to work mightily in the life of Living Hope is we begin our focus around the Gift for Christ. Pray for the Spirit’s power to be at work as I preach “The Story of Missions”
  • Dan: Pray for our new ministry launch in 2014 Peacemakers. Praise for God’s blessing on the 2013 work with The Story, may it continue!!
  • Benny – Please pray for healing in Kimmy’s pituitary and adrenal glands
  • David – pray for final preparations for and invitations to our Discovering Hope membership luncheon / seminar
  • Bill – Praise for Senior Adult trip. Wonderful watching our senior adults witness to the needs of those around them!
  • Ryan – Pray for health for my family
  • Cindy – Pray for continued healing for my stepmom; pray for Orphan lunch on Sunday and Advent celebration on November 20th: praise for Lydia Mattingly and her arrival home; pray for Nathan as he begins his new job at Hope House.
  • Scott – Prayer for upcoming “Big Church” Sunday…that many teens will attend 11AM service.
  • Mark -Pray for a productive, God-honoring Elder/Staff Retreat.
  • Michael – focus, divine appointments
  • Jeff – Pray for my back to stay strong
  • Jeremie – Fruit in personal life and ministry, for wisdom and good health
  • Tyler – Pray for strength and health during this busy time of year.

Tom and Carla – SouthEast Asia

  • Please pray for the Palaung people who have just heard The Good News shared with them in their heart language for the first time! Tom and the LH team were able to make the long trek into their village and share The Gospel—Praises to Him!

Bryan Lewis – Hope House

  • Pray for Nathan Mattingly as he transitions into the Director of Operations position at Hope House
  • Pray for Affordable Christmas. We have several churches, organizations and businesses doing Christmas gift fundraisers. We are in great need for volunteers for this very worthy and value driven program for parents to have a way to purchase gifts themselves this Christmas.
  • Pray for the last few weeks of Faith and Finances and three Jobs for Life classes that will finish up this year.
  • Please pray God will provide us the needed funds to continue to minister to the downtown area of our city.
  • Please pray for staff and board as we are in the middle of budget planning for 2013.

Stuart and Jenny Borders, Church Planters in Atlanta, GA

  • Thank you for your prayers, our halloween block party went great! Served over 200 people with chili, cotton candy, and candy.  Made lots of connections with neighbors and even had two neighbors join us for bible study this past Sunday from it. Please pray that we would continue to build relationships within our neighborhood. We can see our investment in the neighborhood already in small ways and are excited to see what God does through it.
  • Please pray for planning and preparation for 2014. We expect it to be a big year both in our family and in the church.  Will you pray that God would give us clear direction in a few areas and provide strength and resources needed to accomplish His goals!
  • Pray for Jenny as she is now into the third trimester. Pray for her health and stamina.  Pray for baby Ben to continue to grow and develop!  Pray for Ella, Spencer, Kate, and Josiah as well that God would be at work in their lives to understand the scriptures and His grace for them.

Bryan Veatch – FCA director, South Central Kentucky

  • My FCA REGIONAL Vice President who 160 Staff in KY, TN, MS, LA, AL report to has had his wife file for divorce and are in mediation.  I pray for he, his wife & two young children.
  • Please pray for the FCA Campuses in Glasgow/Barren Co, Metcalfe Co, Hart Co., and Monroe Co.  We’re seeing new-life on those campuses.
  • We’re still in need of $15,000 to cover our budget loss.

Mark and Parker Phillips – Seeking the Songhai

  • Pray for the 8 new believers who confessed Christ last week while a team from LH was here.  These believers emerged from 5 different villages.  In 3 villages, we saw the first believers ever to emerge from their village!
  • Pray for a team from Texas coming out next week to work on the Mehanna road.  Pray that they would encourage the few believers and share boldly with those still living in darkness.

Thomas Weakley – Campus Crusade at WKU

  • We are having an evangelistic outreach this week called My Hope  It is part of the Billy Graham Crusade that is nation wide.  We are praying for 400 students to attend on Thursday  Nov. 7th at Grise hall Auditorium.  Pray that many students will put there trust in Christ this week.
  • I, Thomas, am having lots of kidney stone problems  please pray it passes this week without having to have surgery.

Departmental Requests: 

  • Welcome/Newcomer – Pray for upcoming Welcome Team appreciation lunches that the team would understand how valuable they are and be ready for the upcoming Holiday season and the great opportunities we have to make Living Hope the most loving place on the planet for the glory of God.
  • Adult Discipleship: pray for the calling and development of many new small group leaders/shepherds
  • Children’s – Pray for our ministry team as Nathan leaves to work at Hope House. Pray for wisdom and balance to finish the year strong in God’s strength. Continue to pray for our volunteers and for volunteer needs at 11:00. Pray for our Joyful Noise children’s mission choir as they sing for Advent of November 20 and also on December 8th and 15th.
