Day 10 – April 13 – Transgressions

[Weekly Scripture] 1 John 1:8–9 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Exodus 20:2-3 I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.  You shall have no other gods before me.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

What are you placing before God in your life?
What sins are in your life that you haven’t repented from?

Pray that you will put or keep God first in your life.

E-devotion by Dan Edmonson
From today’s Scriptures we can see how important it is for us to rightly remember our relationship with God. He is the Lord our God and we shall have no others. As we give Him His proper place in our minds we will then feel the need to confess. If we do not understand God for who He really is, we will struggle with the act of confession. The really cool thing is that God loves a humble (confessing) heart. He loves it so much that 1 John tells us he will forgive us completely once we confess. Wow, when was the last time someone in this world forgave you completely? When was the last time you forgave someone completely? Confession and forgiveness are key components in our Christian life. We need them in order for God to use us for His glory.

So today remind yourself of God’s place in your life and let Him lead you to a time of confession and repentance. Then be free to know that he will in turn cleanse you whiter then snow!
